Rabbi Yaron Reuven brings a parable from the Zohar Parashat Shemot 14a on the backstory of the Exodus, Moshe and Tzipporah and the unlikely story of Redemption from Egyptian slavery most have never heard. Rabbi Reuven gives many examples of how various strange and ugly events leading up to the Exodus of Egypt reveal HaShem's hidden hand at work. Ultimately, the Redemption from Egypt only happened because Moshe Rabbeinu was willing to sacrifice his life to redeem Am Yisrael.

Rambam in Hilchot TeShuva says that all the Prophets commanded the people to do TeShuva, and Am Yisrael will be redeemed only through TeShuva. Rabbi Yaron Reuven says, MaShiach is coming soon and most people aren't ready. During the Exodus of Egypt a minimum of 80% of Am Yisrael died in Egypt during the Plague of Darkness, and only the ones that survived were those that did TeShuva.
