The powers of Tumah (Impurity) need the powers of Kedushah (Holiness) to function, without Kedushah, Tumah has no power in the world. How the Sitra Achra, represented by Par'o, gets this power is by waiting for a Jew to build themselves in their Mitzvot and then lays a trap, and if they fail for a sin of immorality, or even if they just cross the line, all the holiness goes to feed the Sitra Achra (the Satan and his wife). This is why it's very important to build fences to keep from sinning and to be very very far from sins of immorality and as modest and holy as possible.
