The Test Before Seeing A Blessing

Sometimes before HaShem wants to give someone a blessing He gives them a big test to see if they really deserve it. Rabbi Yaron Reuven tells a story of a supporter of Torah and KIRUV that was expecting a blessing and got a $5,000 fine instead! Does that sound like a blessing? The blessing was hiding and waiting for them to pass the test. Once they accepted it was from HaShem and they knew their donation was a big mitzvah, HaShem opened the windows of Heaven wide to pour down upon them.
