Parashat Vayeshev and The Power of Emunah

Rabbi Yaron Reuven brings a chiddush on Parashat Vayeshev that reveals the difference between the holy Chashmonaim and Yosef HaTzadik, and why emunah is not enough to endure the tests of sinning. The Chashmonaim saved Am Yisrael during Chanukah and Yosef HaTzadik saved Am Yisrael during the descent to Egyptian slavery, but Yosef had something the Chashmonaim didn't, Yirat Shamayim. The Chashmonaim saved Am Yisrael, but they didn't have enough Yirat Shamayim to do TeShuva, and HaShem destroyed them for not relinquishing the kingship to the descendants of David HaMelech. Without Yirat Shamayim your emunah won't last.
