A TORAH LOVE STORY

Elchanan shares their personal journey from growing up in Haiti, moving to Miami as a teenager, and eventually becoming involved in a Jewish community. About two years ago, they began attending the local synagogue (shul) and started the process of conversion to Judaism. During this time, they met a woman at the synagogue who later became their spouse. Despite not speaking much at first, their relationship developed through the community and conversion process, leading to marriage shortly after conversion was completed. The speaker expresses deep gratitude for the rabbi and the synagogue community, emphasizing how the process and marriage have given them strength and purpose. They also reflect on overcoming cultural expectations about education and career in favor of pursuing meaningful spiritual growth.
